The former railroad tracks base of the B&O Railroad were re-purposed into a multi-purpose walking, hiking, biking, and skating trail that extends from Georgetown in Washington, DC to Silver Spring, Maryland. A notable landmark in the area is the Congressional Country Club. The country club is one of the most prestigious golf clubs in the US, and has hosted four major championships. Baseball is also a huge area attraction with the exclusive Burning Tree Club, Bethesda Country Club, and Bethesda Community Baseball Club participating in a renowned summer team called the Bethesda Big Train.
